Husmus recognised as a leading fintech company
Landlord & renter insurance expert Husmus have been selected as part of Tech Nation’s Libra 2.0 cohort for 2022/23. The news follows a recent surge of recognition for the business, including being nominated as landlord insurance provider of the year by Smart Money, several corporate partnerships, and closing a successful angel funding round late 2021.
Husmus has been selected as one of only 35 companies to join the Libra 2.0 cohort. Libra aims to strengthen the UK’s position as one of the best places in the world to start and grow a business by supporting ethnically underrepresented tech leaders based in the UK.
Abi Mohamed, Libra programme lead at Tech Nation, said: “After the success of the inaugural Libra programme last year, I’m delighted to welcome a new cohort of inspiring companies to the table. These companies are working across a wide range of sectors – from finance and ecommerce to education and healthcare – but what they have in common is enormous potential and drive, and the right to be given equal opportunities to grow and scale.” Anna Korzeniowska, Head of Experience at Tech Nation, said: “The calibre of all of the startups and scaleups accepted into this year’s programmes has been outstanding.”
As part of the programme, Husmus will also be participating in Fintech 5.0 gaining a concierge-style service for all its scaling challenges including introductions to investors and mentors.
Sarah Wernér, Co-Founder and CEO of Husmus, said: “We are thrilled to be part of the Libra 2.0 cohort and will be taking full advantage of the platform that the Tech Nation programme brings. We are delighted at the vote of confidence in our mission to bring lifestyle diversity and financial inclusion to the rental space.
Tech Nation is the UK’s leading network for ambitious tech entrepreneurs, and the Libra programme aims at accelerating the growth of successful UK tech scaleups founded by underrepresented founders while the Fintech programme aims at the same for successful UK finance and insurance focused scaleups. Both programmes have built an incredible network of over 100 alumni. The programme is funded by the UK Government’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sports.
